Michael Smith's Beer Steamed Mussels
Mussels get a little extra flavour when steamed in a little hops and barley.
- 5 lbs mussels
- 1 bottle of your favourite beer
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 baguette, cut into 1 inch slices
- olive oil
- salt and pepper
1. Preheat your grill to high.2. Drizzle the baguette slices with olive oil, salt and pepper and grill until crispy and golden.3. Meanwhile toss the mussels, beer and butter into a large pot. Cover and steam over high heat until the mussels open, about 7-8 minutes. Serve with the beer broth and the grilled bread for dipping.
